Sociology 378/Communications Studies 385: Rebel with a Cause: Social Movements in History and Popular Culture is a three-credit, intermediate-level course that explores the “causes” of social movements that have arisen to answer or solve contemporary social and environmental problems. Course readings, resources, and assignments give attention to social movements, in theory and practice, in history and contemporary times, and in relation to popular culture.
