LOSL-559: Outsourcing and Logistics Report a Broken Link

This course introduces students to the broad topic of logistics, with special emphasis on integrated logistics and logistics outsourcing. Integrated logistics involves coordination of logistics activities (e.g., transportation and warehousing) to serve customers at the lowest possible cost. Various types of logistics service providers (LSPs) are compared and contrasted. The course also addresses costs and benefits of outsourcing or hiring outside firms to perform logistics activities, along with the role of relationships in outsourcing and integrated logistics. As part of their work in the course, students will create a model for selecting a third-party logistics (3PL) provider for an organization of their choosing.
